ARIZONA, Flagstaff – Funeral services for 70, were held Apr. 7, 2017 at the Christ Church of Flagstaff. Burial followed at the Citizen’s Cemetery.  Michael was born Jan. 10, 1947 at the Navajo Army Depot in Bellemont, AZ., into the Naashaashi (Enemy Bear Clan), born for Ta’neezahnii (Tangle Clan).  He passed away Apr. 1, 2017. Michael is survived by his wife, Margaret Bedonie; brother, Walter Bedonie; children, Tonyan Altist, Cecilia Cody, Myron Wauneka, Stefanie Costello, Terrence Bedonie, Michael Dennison, Marianina Rodriguez, and Michaela Bedonie; and several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Chee Bedonie Sr. and Ethel Kenepah Bedonie; brothers, Chee Jr. and Norman “Skipp” Bedonie, Timothy “Bruce” Bedonie, and Jake Bedonie; and niece, Chasity Bedonie. Michael went to school in San Francisco, CA., for computer programming.  He returned to the Navajo Nation where he was employed doing data processing for the Navajo Tribe in Window Rock.  He also attended Northern Arizona University.  He worked for Walgreens Distribution Center in Flagstaff for 30 years. Susie is survived by her sister, Ellen Tom; son, Loren Tapahe; daughters, Vivian Tapahe and Emolind Tapahe; and nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Bonnie and Herbert Reeder; husband, Tom Tapahe; sons, Tommy, Melton, and Murvyn Tapahe; and daughters, Imogene Tapahe and Charlene Tapahe Herrera. Leo is survived by his sons, Joseph W. Begay and Daren T. Ramsey is survived by his son, Ramsey Michael Davidson Jr.; daugthers, Katherine Witman, Alicia Santiago, Katherine Cantsee, and Angelisa Tsosie; brothers, Henry P. Davidson Sr., Alexander, and Alden Davidson; sisters, Caroline Begay, Kathleen and Angela Davidson; and 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by Spencer, Katherine, Roslyn, and Genevieve Davidson. Ramsey worked for ONEO Construction, supervisor at NFPI, and construction supervisor at Fort Defiance Chapter House.  Ramsey served in Vietnam for 1966 to 1968 and was a member of the Twin Warriors Society. MINNESOTA, Bemidji - Funeral arrangements for DONALD “DON” COOK, SR., 74, from the Red Lake District were pending at time of printing.  Donald passed away May 1, 2017 in Fargo, ND.  Donald attended Bemidji State University where he studied Criminal Justice.  He also served in the U.S. Navy.  Donald served the Red Lake Nation as Tribal Secretary of the Red Lake Nation.  He also served as a legal representative, lay advocate and in several other capacities for individuals within the Tribal Court system.   In earlier years Don was involved with the North American Indigenous Games.

Erwin is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Boyd Bowman; sons, Wendell, Jonathan, Timothy, Adrian, Marcus, Conroy and Theron Bowman; daughters, Yvette, Felicia, Nadine, Arione and Claudia Bowman; and 18 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his sons, Aluysus and Matthew Bowman; daughter, Yvonne Bowman-Abeita; parents, Harry Bowman Sr. and Agnes Bryant Bowman; brother, Harry Bowman Jr.; and sisters, Delores Bowman-Johnson, Roberta Benally-Attcitty, and Dorothy Bowman Edwin was a U.S. Army veteran. NEW MEXICO, Albuquerque – A Celebration of Life for CAMPBELL “CAM” REED PFEIFFER, 80, was held Apr. 15, 2017 at the Mesa View United Methodist Church in Albuquerque.  Campbell was born Apr. 20, 1936, in Hastings, NE., to William Roger Pfeiffer and Jeanne Elizabeth Eggert.  He passed away Apr. 6, 2017. Campbell is survived by his wife, Anita Bradley Pfeiffer; daughters, Tamarah, Taasha, and Michele Pfeiffer; son-in-law, Kip Bobroff; grandson, Chad Pfeiffer; and daughter-in-law, Jana; brothers, Mark, Stephen, Gerardo, Paul, and John; grandson, Reed Bobroff; de facto grandson, Jason; and two grandsons and two great-grandchildren. Campbell taught at Flowing Wells high School, worked at Education Development Center.  He was director of Community Services at Rough Rock Demonstration School, executive director of To’hajiilee Community School, and an administrator at Navajo Academy in Farmington. Harry is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sandoval; sons, Carlos, Darrell Sr., Harry Jr., and Harold Sandoval; daughters, Mary Jane, Carol, Diane, and Priscilla Sandoval; parents, Elise and Charlie Jesus Sandoval; sisters, Winnie Apache, Orlene Delgarito, and Marie Secatero; and 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  Harry is preceded in death by his sister, Christine Mexicano. Harry was a welder, carpenter, farmer, mechanic, silversmith, heavy equipment operator, and rancher. (Navajo Times, April 27, 2017)

Shyan passed away Apr. 16, 2017.  He was born Oct. 31, 1990 to Shane Wheelock and angela Danforth. Shyan is survived by his parents; son, Ale (Little Dude); and siblings, Shayna, Dylan, and Toria; grandparents, Richard (Eleanore) Danforth, Marshall (Valerie) Groleau, and Elden Wheelock; aunts, and uncles; Sherry (Kelly), Shannon (Sunshine), Kristie, Denise (Juan), Steve (Connie), Rosalyn and Danielle.  He is preceded in death by his uncle, Shuan; great-grandparents, Evelyn, Dennison, Vernon (Katherine); great-aunts and uncles, Kermit, Hubert, Randy and Elaine. WISCONSIN, Oneida – Pray services for ROBERT M. “BOB” SEXTON, 57, Oneida were held on Apr. 21, 2017 at Ryan Funeral Home. Oneida Hymn Singers sang before the prayer service.  Robert passed away Apr. 17, 2017.  He was born Mar. 4, 1960 to Emil Sexton and Helen Huff.

WISCONSIN, Hayward - DAVID J. QUADERER, age 30, of LCO, passed away Apr. 20, 2017 at home. Tribal Funeral Rites were held Apr. 23, 2017 at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward.  Burial followed on the Quaderer Family Property.  David was born December 3, 1986 in Chicago, IL, to Steven and Judith (Wrzeskinski) Quaderer.  David is survived by his children: son Davien “Davey” Quaderer, son Brody Quaderer, daughter Gracie Quaderer and son Lennon “Lenny” Quaderer. He is also survived by his Grandmother, Mildred Creed; Parents, Steve and Judy Quaderer; Siblings Becky Pittner, Jose and Michele Valentin, Chris and Krystle Cournoyer, John and Terri Quaderer, James and Janet (Quaderer) Dennis, Donny Quaderer, Charlie Quaderer, and Andy Quaderer. He also had many, many nieces and nephews.

WISCONSIN, Hayward - CHEYENNE G. COON, age 27, of Black River Falls, WI journeyed to the Spirit World on April 23, 2017 in Minneapolis.  Funeral Services were held, Apr. 27, 2017 at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward.  Burial was in the Coon Family Cemetery in Whitefish.  Cheyenne was born on January 23, 1990 in Eau Claire, WI to Henry Whitethunder and Jerilyn Holden. He is survived by his parents; significant other, Kathleen Funmaker; children, Cashis Coon, Taylor Coon, Kendrick Coon, Ayasha Coon, Lyniah Coon and Nola Coon; brother, George Coon; sisters, Jerilyn Jackson, Alexandria Whitethunder, Dominique Whitethunder, and Valerainna Whitethunder; many other relatives and friends.Cheyenne enjoyed going to Pow-Wows, watching sports.

WISCONSIN, Hayward - SIERRA N. MILLER, 23, of LCO, passed away, Apr. 20, 2017 at her home. Medewiwin Funeral Rites were held  Apr. 24, 2017 at Big Drum Ceremonial Center. Burial is in Round Lake Cemetery.  Sierra Nicole Miller was born Sept. 13, 1993 in Duluth, MN, to Jim and Kathryn (Morrow) Miller.  Sierra is survived by her father, Jim; son, Lennon Quaderer; daughter, Gracie Quaderer; sister, Tayona Paffel; brothers, Nicholas Miller, Nathaniel Miller; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.  Sierra is preceded in death by her mother, Kathy; aunt, Sharon Morrow; grandparents, Francis & Marie Morrow, Clifford & Marie Miller.  Cece worked many years at the Boys and Girls Club. Cece attended many Tribal Ceremonies and was 1st degree Midewiwin.

WISCONSIN, Crandon – Funeral services for BETTY JEAN POLER, GWE KA BNOK “CLOUDS TURNING BACK”, 70, of Crandon were held Apr. 12, 2017 at the Lake Lucerne Gospel Chapel.  Burial services followed at the Potawatomi Tribal Cemetery in Stone Lake.  Betty passed away Apr. 9, 2017 at her home.  She was born Oct. 9, 1946, in Hayward WI., to Jessie and Margaret (Thunder) Jacobson. Betty is survived by her children, Jean Jacobson, Angel Alloway, Tim Alloway, Bill (Cassandra) Alloway, Cleveland (Candice) Holmes, and Chad Holmes; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, and sisters.  She is preceded in death by her parents; son, George Jr., two grandsons, Lamar Jay Alloway and Shawnegishek Daniels; and granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Jacobson; and husband, Virgil Poler (who preceded her in death shortly after they married). WISCONSIN, Hayward - EUGENE D. BISONETTE, age 65, of LCO, passed away Apr. 29, 2017 at his home.  Tribal Funeral Rites were held May 4, 2017 at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward. Burial followed in Whitefish Cemetery. Eugene was born Sep. 26, 1951 in Hayward, WI, to John and Margaret (DeCouteau) Bisonette.  Eugene is survived by his daughter, Gina Bisonette; brothers, Michael Robert Curtis, Robert Keith, David Keith; sisters, Cathy Rooker, Terry Ekbom, Leslie Cooley, Jacqueline Anderson and Kathryn Keith; many nephews and nieces.  Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gary Bisonette, Wayne Bisonette, Daniel Smith; sister, Diane Keith. Eugene spent his early childhood and teen years in Denver, CO and as an adult Eugene traveled between Colorado, Minnesota and Wisconsin. He worked as a laborer doing many different jobs and spent his spare time working on his crafts. Eugene returned to his birthplace in 2012 where he spent his final years.
