Arizona, Ganado – Funeral services for Jason Jay McCabe, 36, of Woodsprings, AZ., were held Nov. 2, 2017 at the LDS Church in Ganado.  Interment followed in Kinlichee, AZ.  Jason was born Mar. 2, 1981, in Phoenix, into the Ashiihi (Salt People Clan), born for Tachii’nii (Red Running Into the Water People Clan).  Jason passed away Oct. 28, 2017 in Ganado. Jason is survived by his father, Herman McCabe Sr.; sister, Timera McCabe; and brothers, Thurman and Derrick McCabe.  He is preceded in death by his mother, Brenda Jean McCabe; brother, Herman McCabe Jr.; and grandparents, Kee and Irene D. Arizona, Phoenix – Funeral services for Eleazar “Ellie” Zavala Flamme, 84, were held Nov. 18, 2017 at the Mass Sacred Heart Church in Phoenix.  Ellie was born Mar. 31, 1933, in Williams, AZ.  Eleazar passed away Nov. 8, 2017 in Tucson. Eleazar is survived by her siblings, Carmen Reyes, Jessie Valdez and Rita Valdez; children, Robert Flamme, Theresa Koubeck, Julie Flamme and Cecilia Flamme; and five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Eduvigis B. Valdez; husband, Robert George Flamme; and siblings, Manuel Baca, Joe Baca, Rachel Castro, Marshall Valdez and Romelia Aniceto. Arizona, Fort Defiance – A memorial service for Levon Williams, 49, was held Nov. 18, 2017 at the Family Church in Fort Defiance.  Levon was born Apr. 16, 1968 in Ganado, AZ., into the Tachii’nii (Red Running Into the Water People Clan), born for Kiyaa’aanii (Towering House Clan).  Levon passed away Nov. 8, 2017 in Fort Defiance. Levon is survived by his parents, Dennis and Rena C. Williams; brothers, Daniel, Darryl, Wade , Dwayne, and Aaron Williams; sisters, Denise Williams-Yazzie, Lucyann Harjo, and Delores Sullivan; and 19 nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his brother, Davi Williams; grandparents, James and Lucy Cleveland and Bahe and Nellie Williams. Arizona, Kayenta – Derrick Leroy Tsinajinnie, 37, passed away Nov. 11, 2017 at the Kayenta Medical Center.  Derrick was born May 22, 1980 to Stella and Leroy Tsinajinnie.  He was born into To’aheedliinii (Water Flow Together Clan), born for Tl’izi Lani (Many Goats Clan). Derrick is survived by his mother; sisters, Vangie and Delphine Tsinajinnie; brother-in-law, Dr. James Feigenbaum; and many family and friends.  He is preceded in death by Leroy Adison Tsinajinnie; and friends, Austin Holt and Franklin Lake. Minnesota, Red Lake – A funeral mass for Brandi Lynn Shank, 25, of Cass Lake was held Nov. 17, 2017 at St Charles Catholic Church in Cass Lake.  Interment followed in Pine Grove Cemetery at Cass Lake.  Brandi was born Apr. 21, 1992 in Bemidji, MN., to Theresa Pemberton and Roger Strong, Sr.  Brandi passed away Nov. 12, 2017  Brandi is survived by her daughters, Zoe and Breylynn; parents;and stepdad, Rich Benjamin; sister, Tashia Strong; brother, Dylan Strong; god parents; aunt, Shawn and uncle “Beek”; numerous aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by her brother, Roger Strong Jr.; cousins, Manda Laine and LeRoy III; grandparents, LeRoy and Estelle Pemberton and Bunky and Agatha Strong; and aunts, Sandra and Rhonda. Lavina is survived by her son, Vincent (Allison) Rushman; daughter, Roni (Micah) Herring; 4 grandchildren, Travis Rushman, Stephanie Frahm, Zeoy Rushman and Robert Herring; 2 step-grandchildren, Kristi and Thomas; 3 great-grandchildren, Neveah, Silas, and Fiona; step-great-grandchild, Drakeson; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents; 4 sisters, Cecelia Kingbird, Leojean Rushman, Francis Smith and Emma Knutson; and a brother, Henry Rushman. Smith, 34, were held Nov. 9, 2017 at Rollie Mortuary in Gallup.  Burial followed in Rehoboth Cemetery in Rehoboth, NM.  Carlton was born Apr. 9, 1983, in Gallup, into the Todich’ii’nii (Bitter Water Clan).  Carlton passed away Nov. 3, 2017 in Albuquerque. Carlton is survived by his mother, Charlotte J. Smith; brother, Erwin Smith; grandfather, Irvin C. Smith; uncle, Alvin Smith; aunts, Barbara Morgan, Corraine Smith, Laura Smith, and Sherry Smith and eight cousins and 13 nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Lorraine M. Smith; and uncle, Verne Morgan. Carlton received an associate’s degree in general studies from Dine College and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Arizona State University. DuBoise, 83 were held Nov. 20, 2017 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Mission Church in Cousins, NM.  Interment followed at the family land.  Sarah was born Oct. 19, 1934, into the Tl’aashchi’i (Red Bottom People Clan), born for Kiyaa’aanii (Towering House Clan).  Sarah passed away Nov. 15, 2017. Sarah is survived by Duran DuBoise, Andrea DuBoise-Kinsel, Sandra Skeets, Nan Burch, Maggie Pino, Rita Vallo, and Paul Yazzie; and 23 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her son, Victor DuBoise; and five sisters, two brothers and her parents. Rydell is survived by his mother, Emma Anderson; daughters, Tanya and DelRae Anderson; sons, Clinton, Rydell Jr., Ty and Lucas Anderson; brother, T.J. Anderson; and sisters, Alberta Reeder, Linda Thomas and Mary Anderson.  He is preceded in death by his father, Tex R. Hollow Horn, 65, were held Nov. 16, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church in Gallup.  Burial followed with a private ceremony in Tohatchi, NM.  Murlee was born Sep. 11, 1952 in Gallup, into the Kiyaa’aanii (Towering House Clan), born for Dibelzhini (Black Sheep Clan).  Her nali is Honaghaahnii (One-walks-around); chei is Ashiihi (Salt People).  Murlee passed away Nov. 4, 2017 in Gallup.
Murlee is survived by her mother, Ethel Smith; brothers, Virgil, Bob, and Calvin Smith; daughters, Sasheen and Cheyenne Hollow Horn; sons, Bogart and Austin Hollow Horn; nieces, Brittany and Autumn Smith; and five grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her son, Mitt Hollow Horn; father, Bobby Smith; and grandparents, Nellie and Joe Arviso. Nedford is survived by his father, Ned Edsitty; son, Shiloh Edsitty; daughters, Tushar, Novia and Jailynn Edsitty; and sisters, Lynette, Personna and Rashelle Edsitty.  He is preceded in death by his mother, Pearl S. Isabelle is survived by Miranda Pat, Merlinda Dixon, Albercita Dixon, and Merle Dixon.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Tom C. and Mary C. New Mexico, Farmington – A memorial celebration of life for Donald Richard Natoni, 82, of Farmington was held Nov. 24, 2017 at the Ryder Chapel at Navajo Preparatory School in Farmington.  Donald was born Feb. 10, 1935, to John and Asdza Daniels in Rehoboth, NM.  He passed away Oct. 31, 2017. Donald is survived by his wife, Eleanore Natoni; foster sister, Virginia Sloan-Weaver; daughters, Donna (Kurt) Chrisman and Roberta (Paul) Dean; son, Christian (Alyson) Natoni; and seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.  He is preceded in death by his parents; foster parents, Grace and Morris Natani; foster sister, Antoninette Seumptewa; foster brother, Clifford Natani; and grandchild, Melissa Dean. Donald attended the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO, worked as a draftsman for the City of Farmington, American Tank and Steel, Shell Oil Company, Chemical Construction Corporation, Arizona Public Service, Raytheon and Hughes Missile Systems.   (Navajo Times, November 16, 2017)

Washington, Tulalip – Interfaith service for Adrian S. Henry Sr. was held Nov. 15, 2017 at the Tulalip Gym. Funeral services were held Nov. 16, 2017 at the Tulalip Gym with burial following at Mission Beach Cemetery.  Adrian  was born July 25, 1962 and passed away Nov. 9, 2017.  Adrian is survived by his wife, Marilyn; children, Adrian Jr., John (Tije), Zachary, Zanetta, Tasheina, Kanim (Shaelynn), Joseph, and Kashiss; grandchildren, Andrew, Alisianna, Javohn, Christopher, Zahmarei, Brianna, Raeanna, Scarlett, Malik.  He is preceded in death by, John and Barbara Henry; brother, Randall; sister, Louise, son, Diandre; and aunts, and uncles.  Adrian was a dedicated table games manager of the Tulalip Casino for over 10 years.  He also worked on the construction of the Tulalip Casino and Resort.  He ministered the Word of God. Curtis passed away Nov. 10, 2017 at home.  Curtis Paul Isham was born on December 13, 1961 in Hayward, WI to  of James Denomie and Shirley Ann Isham and was raised by his mother and step-father Thomas Miller.  Curtis is survived by his wife, Kelli A. Wisconsin, Hayward - Memorial Mass for Diane M. Bear - DeFoe, age 70, of Red Cliff was held Nov. 18, 2017 at St.Francis Catholic Church, Red Cliff. Diane passed away Nov. 10, 2017 at her home. Diane was born on May 12, 1947 in Ashland , Wisconsin, to Joseph A. and Genevieve A. (Peterson) Goslin. Celebration of her life and feast was Nov. 18, 2017, at the Legendary Waters Resort and Casino Center in Red Cliff.

Wisconsin, Hayward - Tribal Funeral Rites for Mary L. Bilkasley, age 58, of Hayward were held  Nov. 27, 2017 at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward.  Burial followed in Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.  Mary passed away Nov. 20, 2017 at Kapes Lakeside Assisted Living Center in Siren, WI.  Mary Lou Homesky was born on November 11, 1959 in Hayward, WI to Philip and Betty (Conger) Homesky. She was raised by her foster parents Clifford & Lillian Nelson.  Mary is survived by her husband, Dan; daughter, Katisa Ferguson; three grandchildren, Keala, Kylan & Nico; sisters, Delores (Marvin) Bowstring, Bertha Sam, Cindie (Cevin) Gauthier, Sheila McShane, Cheryl Homesky, Faith Homesky & Yvonne (Charlie) Lynk Toole; several nephews & nieces.  She is preceded in death by her parents; foster parents; brothers, Charles “Bud” Homesky, Paul Homesky, Timothy Nelson; sister, Darlene Jackson. Mary enlisted in the U.S. Navy in March 1980 and served until 1983.

Martin, Ogimaabinesikwe, “Head Thunder Woman” age 68, of LCO, WI was held Nov. 29, 2017 at St. Francis Solanus Indian Mission in Reserve.  Burial followed in St. Francis Cemetery.  Julia passed away Nov. 24, 2017 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN.  Julia Beth Martin was born on July 9, 1949 in Hayward, WI to Edward Martin and Mary (Gokey) Carley. She is survived by her son, Edward “Bubba” Martin; daughter, Teana Merrill; grandchildren, Amy Alexnader, Taija Martin, Brandon Stevens and several other children who she was known as Grandma; brothers, Eddy Boy Martin, Gerald (Chicky) Martin, Melvin Gasper, Donald Campbell; sister, Anita (John) Begay.  She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, LuAnne Martin, Linda Martin, Mary Sue Merrill; brothers, Alan Roy Martin and William Carley.

John passed Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at his home.  John Anthony Stout was born August 16, 1964 in Minneapolis, MN to Jerry Sargent and Mary (Quaderer) Stout. John is survived by his son, John Jr.; parents; brothers, Jim Louis, Bill (Patti) Stout, Steve (Debra) Stout, Loren (Kathy) Stout, BL Stout; sister, Mary Anne Morey; best friend, Gary Gynild; loving aunties; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his great nephew, Jack Louis. Theresa passed away Nov. 24, 2017 at her home.  Theresa was born June 5, 1964 in Elmhurst, IL to Art and Catherine (Duncan) Tainter. Theresa is survived by her son, Adam (Teshena LaRonge) Thayer; daughters, Amanda (Aaron Johnson) Thayer, Heather (Christopher White) Thayer; grandchildren, Anakwud, Traylee, Adalyna, Shayna, Amara, Adam Jr., Ashton, Isaac, A’Miiyah and a new grandbaby due June 5, 2018; brother, Michael “Mic” Tainter, Patrick Tainter; many nephews & nieces.
