Osage breaks ground on 7th casino

Ponca City, Oklahoma (AP) 11-07

Construction is under way in Ponca City on the Osage Nation’s seventh casino.

Tribal officials have broken ground on the $14 million dollar project that includes a travel plaza and say it’s expected to open within a year. A hotel is to be built later.

The tribe hasn’t said how many gaming machines the casino will have or how many employees it expects to hire.

The tribe currently owns and operates casinos in Tulsa, Sand Springs, Hominy, Bartlesville, Pawhuska and Skiatook.
