Kimberlie Acosta talks with Kyra Paitrick and Mushkooub about the process of making a birch bark canoe and the cultural importance it has to Native Americans. This team of canoe builders is in their third year of a three year project of birch bark canoe building and Anishinaabemowin Immersion put on by the Fond du Lac Cultural Museum and the Administration for Native Americans. The Fond du Lac reservatoin is located in Northern Minnesota.
