Help Save The Sea Turtles: IndianCountryTV.com Special Report

Paul DeMain gives an introduction to the danger posed to new born sea turtles. Kimberlie Acosta talks with Richard Whitecloud from the Sea Turtle Oversight Protection about the Sea Turtle habitat in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, which is the second most important Loggerhead Sea Turtle nesting habitat in the world. With a nesting season which goes from March 1 to November 1 of each year, artificial and improper coastal lighting pulls tens of thousands of new born hatchlings towards parking lots, streets, condos, hotels and private homes.

So that we wouldn't disturb the sea turtles, we intentionally chose to record this interview in low light, using only the light of the full moon and a low watt red flashlight that volunteers use when babysitting the sea turtle nests each night.
