Mount Pleasant, Michigan (AP) 1-08

A woman’s body found in the Chippewa River is believed to be that of a missing Chippewa tribal member.

Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Police Capt. David Crockett tells the Morning Sun of Mount Pleasant that authorities believe the woman is Valerie Lytle.

Lytle had been reported missing January 4. The body was found near a Mount Pleasant golf course by authorities searching for Lytle.

Crockett says an autopsy has been ordered, but foul play is not suspected.
