A Lower Brule man faces up to 10 years in prison after being convicted of assaulting another man with a vehicle.

Kyle Aaron Thompson, 22, was found guilty in federal court in Pierre of assault with a dangerous weapon.

Thompson assaulted Kyle Evan Flute Feb. 28 on the Lower Brule Indian Reservation by ramming Flue’s vehicle from behind, according to the indictment. When Flute tried to get out of his vehicle to go into the Lower Brule police station, Thompson slammed into Flute’s door and crushed his leg, the document states.

Thompson was taken into custody until his sentencing.
