Welcome to IndianCountryTV - Pow Wow Videos

Produced by Paul DeMain
Reserve, Wisconsin (NFIC)

pipestnlco25-08_1.jpgThe Pipestone Singers of the Lac Courte Oreilles Reservation sing one of their general inter-tribal songs to bring in the dancers during a break at the LCO School System annual contest powwow during June. The group was host drum for the events held at the Honor The Earth Powwow Ground southeast of Hayward, Wisconsin.

In 2007, the Pipestone Drum won first place “Record of the Year” for their contemporary hand drum singing by the Native American Music Awards. The award was given to them for their fifth CD in as many years entitled Good Ol’ Fashioned NDN Lovin, a cut of traditional hand drum-based round dance songs with English lyrics that speak to some of the humorous events surrounding the love lives and interactions of life experienced by their drum and friends around Indian Country.
