Citi, which employs about 3,000 people in South Dakota, announced during late October that $280,000 in grants are being made available to support small business growth and education for American Indians in the state.

In a release, Citi said the grants will be distributed to nonprofit agencies that provide services to Indians.

Citi says the money will provide scholarships to students to attend tribal colleges, support financial literacy and training programs, fund teacher positions on reservations and help establish new lending sources on tribal lands to support business development.
