A federal prosecutor at Tulsa says a Missouri man has pleaded guilty to theft by counterfeiting $500 poker chips that he then used at an Indian casino near Grove.
William Reece Lancaster, 49, of Joplin, Mo., entered the plea during mid-December in federal court at Tulsa, according to acting U.S. Attorney Thomas Scott Woodward.
A news release said Lancaster used the fake chips at the Seneca Cayuga Grand Lake Casino on Oct. 8, resulting in his arrest. Lancaster admitted bleaching and dyeing legitimate 25-cent chips so they matched the casino’s $500 chips, the release said.
