north of the Rocky Boy Indian Reservation powwow grounds, tribal
officials said Saturday.

Travis Sutherland, 36, was killed in the Friday night crash on Route

Four people in the other vehicle, including a 7-year-old, were
injured. Two adults were flown to a Great Falls hospital with serious
injuries, while the third adult and the child were hospitalized in

The child has since been released, Martin said.

Authorities say Sutherland was driving erratically that night and
nearly struck a tribal security officer just five minutes before the
head-on collision was reported.

It was not immediately known if alcohol was a factor.

In Gallatin County, authorities identified the man killed Friday in a
one-car rollover on a frontage road west of Belgrade as 52-year-old
Michael Smith of Belgrade. The driver, Dewayne Shaw, 51, of Belgrade
was airlifted to a Seattle hospital with serious injuries.
