Body found in Arizona canal identified

Phoenix, Arizona (AP) February 2011

Phoenix police say a body found in a canal in the city has been identified as a missing man from the Gila River Indian Community.

Police Sgt. Trent Crump says he was 61-year-old Solanus Valenzuela.

Crump says an SRP worker discovered the body last week near 67th Avenue and Dobbins Road.

The Office of the Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

Crump says investigators don’t suspect foul play.
