Oklahoma City police ask for help to ID woman

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (AP) March 2011

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a woman whose remains were discovered more than two years ago in southwest Oklahoma City.

Officers said last week that an Oklahoma Gas and Electric crew found human remains on S.W. 10 Street as they were working on the Interstate 40 construction project.

Police say the remains are believed to be that of a young, adult Native American female. Authorities haven’t been able to determine a cause of death.

Oklahoma City police homicide detectives and the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office got a forensic artist to create a facial reconstruction of the woman.

Anyone with information regarding the woman’s identity is being asked to call police 405-297-1200.
