Tribal member enters plea in fatal Tucson crash

Tucson, Arizona (AP) April 2010

A Tohono O’odham Nation tribal member faces up to 71 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to involuntary vehicular manslaughter.

Prosecutors say 52-year-old Floyd Ambrose Juan was drunk when he struck and killed 22-year-old Mavis Lynn Antone with his vehicle near Sells on April 5, 2008.

According to documents filed in U.S. District Court in Tucson, Juan was indicted in July when he was being held in a New Mexico jail on unrelated charges.

Prosecutors said Thursday that Juan is scheduled to be sentenced June 10.
