Man sentenced for shooting at home

Rapid City, South Dakota (AP) May 2010

A Porcupine man was sentenced to five years in prison for shooting at the home of an Oglala Sioux tribal police officer.

Jesse Miller pleaded guilty in December to assault on a federal officer. The 22-year-old was accused of firing a rifle into the home to scare the officer and retaliate.

Court records indicate the officer was not among the home’s occupants at the time.
