A San Carlos Apache member has been sentenced to nearly 20 years in prison for second degree murder.
The U.S. Attorney for Arizona says 54-year-old Patrick Hinton of Bylas pleaded guilty on April 15.
Federal prosecutors say Hinton was arguing with a woman in the San Carlos Community on April 11, 2009, when he pointed a .22 rifle at the victim, intending to scare her.
Authorities say the rifle discharged and the bullet fatally struck the woman in the head.
