Governor orders flags at half-staff for Poplar soldier

Gov. Brian Schweitzer ordered flags to fly at half-staff on July 10 in memory of an Army private who was stabbed to death while on home leave in Poplar.
Ryan Buckles was killed on July 4. The 21-year-old was to be deployed to Afghanistan and had been home in Poplar for a week.
Curtis Eder is accused of stabbing Buckles multiple times. Eder pleaded not guilty to murder and aggravated assault charges in Fort Peck Tribal Court.
