Oregon man stabbed to death near woolen mill

Pendleton, Oregon (AP) July 2010

An Oregon man was stabbed to death on the grounds of the Pendleton Woolen Mills.

Police identified the victim as 46-year-old Allen Anthony Spencer.

Investigators said Spencer, an American Indian, suffered multiple stab wounds to his upper torso, neck and face.

Pendleton police Chief Stuart Roberts said neighbors near the woolen mill heard what sounded like two people arguing before police got a call at 12:36 a.m. July 22 to report a man bleeding from the head.

Roberts said police and emergency crews arrived quickly but the victim was not responsive.
