A New Yorker is being held without bail on charges he beat his girlfriend’s 17-month-old son to death.

Pedro Jones pleaded not guilty on Monday in Southampton Town Court to a charge of first-degree manslaughter.

He is accused of striking the 17-month-old boy several times at a home on the Shinnecock reservation on August 1.

The toddler, Roy Jones III, died at Southampton Hospital.

As Jones was led away from the state police barracks, he told reporters that he loved the little boy.

About a dozen members of the Shinnecock Nation appeared at his arraignment. One spit at Jones. Another, who said she was the child’s grandmother, told him: “I hope you rot in hell.”
