Our Annie Mae, a fearless spirit

Dear Editor,

Our Annie Mae Pictou Aquash. I’m so proud of her. She will always be part of me and my heart.

She is my hero.

I will always honor and respect her, for her sacrifice to help all our people. Her fearless spirit carried me through some of the most darkest days in my life.

I’m a 37 year old Menominee, raised in Chicago. I went to a lot of boarding schools for Natives. Now I am doing life in prison.

I lost my way off the Red Road. But Annie has pulled me back, and showed me how to be strong again. I want our Native bros and sisters to follow the Red Road.

I know that all our people who sacrificed themselves for “me” and all our Red Bros and Sisters.

Donovan Crow
