Bones found in OKC were from a female 4-18-07

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Human remains found in a southeast Oklahoma City Boy Scout camp were that of a woman, police said Wednesday.

Detectives working with the state medical examiner's office determined the woman was either of Asian, Hispanic or American Indian descent and had an unusual right upper front incisor tooth, Sgt. Paco Balderrama said.

She also was wearing a ring made from a horse-shoeing nail, he said.

The remains had been in the camp for two to 10 years and it is unknown whether she was killed or died of natural causes, Balderrama said.

A group of boys from a church group made the first discovery when they found a human skull while hiking in Camp Kickapoo on Sunday.

Police called to the scene found other bones in the area.
