New Mexico regulation commission chief of staff resigns

Sante Fe, New Mexico (AP) February 2011

The chief of staff for the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission, Michael Rivera, has resigned effective last week.

Rivera has been paid $130,000 in the post, which oversees 270 employees.

Johnny Montoya will be interim chief of staff until the commission can find a permanent replacement.

Rivera, who is a former Nambe Pueblo tribal administrator, replaced Dan Mayfield as chief of staff after Mayfield resigned last year to run for the Santa Fe County Commission.
