Riverton conference to address domestic violence

The U.S. Attorney’s Office is refocusing the annual Wind River Native American Conference this year in Riverton to address domestic violence and sexual assault against Native American Women.

The conference is titled “Empowering Native American Women” and will be held on Sept. 7.

The conference is free and open to the public, but registration is required for an accurate count and conference materials. The event will be limited to 150 people.

The conference will include essential information and resources for women’s health and safety as well as workshops and presentations on topics such as sexting and cyberbulling.

There will also be presentations for the students on recognizing dangerous behaviors and situations in order to avoid dating violence.
