Two groups receive USDA grants

Sioux Falls, South Dakota (AP) 9-07

Two western South Dakota organizations are recipients of grants from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The Intertribal Bison Cooperative in Rapid City received a $175,000 technical assistance grant through the USDA’s Small Minority Producer Grant program. It will use the money to help American tribes improve bison herds.

The USDA also awarded a $100,000 grant to the Neighborhood Housing Services of the Black Hills through its Technical and Supervisory Assistance program.

The grants are intended to provide counseling on loans and housing assistance.
