UNO Inter-Tribal Student Council to host powwow

Omaha, Nebraska (AP) April 2010

The University of Nebraska at Omaha Inter-Tribal Student Council will host an all-nations powwow on the Omaha campus.

The public is invited to join in the Saturday festivities, which bring together Native Americans and non-Natives to honor the generations with indigenous dance, song, arts and traditional crafts.

Members of the Ponca, Omaha and Lakota tribes will be represented at the powwow.

Grand entry starts at noon, and dancing continues until 8 p.m.

Admission is free, and traditional Native American food will be served.
