Gov. Mike Rounds has appointed former Mount Rushmore superintendent Gerard Baker to South Dakota’s 11-member Tourism Advisory Board.

Baker served at the memorial for six years beginning in 2004.

He left in April, and most recently served as assistant park service director for American Indian Relations at the National Park Service.

The governor also reappointed Stan Anderson of Wall, John Brockelsby of Rapid City and George Kessler of Mina to the tourism board.

Members serve in an advisory role and act as liaisons between the state Office of Tourism and the visitor industry.
