Choctaws will do road work for Bok Homa Casino

Sandersville, Mississippi (AP) November 2010

The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians will do their own road work and supply their own water for its Bok Homa Casino in Jones County.

Jones County Supervisor Andy Dial tells WDAM-TV of Hattiesburg that Choctaw officials promised to make sure the infrastructure in Sanderville is in good standing to support the 27,000 people they expect to come through the town each month.

Dial says the casino is currently getting their water supply from a newly drilled well.

Tribal officials say they expect to hire more than 300 full- and part-time employees.

The casino will have 722 slot machines and a quick-serve eatery. It is scheduled to open in mid-December.
