Unofficial results from the Oglala Sioux tribal election show President Theresa Two Bulls trailing former president John Yellowbird Steele.
KEVN-TV reports that with challenge ballots still to be dealt with, Steele has a 76-vote lead.
Challenge ballots are those cast by someone whose name is not on the list at the polls. That persons voting eligibility is determined later.
Unofficial results show Kevin Keckler as leading in the Cheyenne River Sioux tribes chairman election. KGFX radio reports that Keckler has a 100-vote lead over Derek Bartlett. Candidates have until Friday afternoon to protest any of the 225 challenge ballots.
