Pine Ridge principal appointed to national council

The principal of Pine Ridge High School has been appointed to National Council on Indian Education.

President Barack Obama has named Robert Cook as one of the six people he intends to appoint to the council.

Cook is an enrolled member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe with more than 20 years experience in teaching and administration.

He serves on the technical review panel of the National Indian Education Study and is a member of the South Dakota Indian Education Advisory Council.
