Lavonne Diamond: Sewing, Beading and Singing (2 videos)

Produced by Nick Vander Puy and Paul DeMain
Reserve, Wisconsin (NFIC/SBN)

Lavonne Diamond is the wife of Lac Courte Oreilles tribal member Bruce Diamond. Lavonne is known for her gospel singing and her sewing amongst several notables.

In the first video, Lavonne shows off the pow wow dance outfit of her grand-daughter, explaining the reasoning behind the colors and beadwork that goes into envisioning what a dance outfit turns out to be. As her grand-daughter told her, when the time comes and the grand entry of a pow wow begins, the outfit gives her the "freedom to fly."

In the second she sings a favorite song entitled, "That's When I'll Come Back to You," by Frank Biggs.
