Joe Morey is the publisher of the Lac Courte Oreilles Times who attended the Sawyer County Tea Party and Tax Protest this past weekend October 24 at Schues Pond in Hayward, Wisconsin.

Amid cries of "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus," the rally got fired up.

Several speakers demanded Christian prayer in public schools, support for US troops around the world, English-only language, the defense of liberty, and no socialized medical care.

Others denied climate change.

Coast to coast demonstrations by "The Tea Party," have been escalating since last spring in opposition to President Obama and the Democratic Party's stimulus package and proposed national health care plan.

The Tea Party takes it's cue from the famous Boston Tea Party in 1773 when patriots, disguised as Indians, dumped tea into the harbor to protest English oppression of the American colonists.  A revolution followed.

The Hayward Tea Party was in part sponsored by Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin who is funded by the conservative, libertarian Koch Foundation.

More than fifty million people are not insured in the United States. The United States is the only major industrial country in the world without national health care.

Having experienced poor care from Indian Health Services (IHS) on the Lac Courte Oreilles Reservation, Joe Morey questions socialized, national health care.

"Canadian socialized, medicine is inadequate."
