Honyere Naygwonabe DeMain is one of many Native youth from the Lac Courte Oreilles reservation and from the local Boys and Girls Club, and surrounding Ojibwe communities that participated in this year's events involving both the youth Barnebirkie and Birkibeiner Crosss Country Ski race in Hayward, Wisconsin. That event was originally started by Tony Wise, with the support of LCO Elders like Pipe Mustache and tribal friends like Ernie St. Germaine.

This year over 10,000 people participated. Here is a short vid as a musical produced by Skabewis that reflects the race through the eyes of just one camera, and one youth skier. Music by Michael Bucher "Believe".
